IPL- Kolkata rides the Royal challengers


In the first match of IPL(Indian Premier League) tournament kolkata knight riders won by 140 runs against the local host Bengaluru Royal Challengers. The former team has been asked to bat first by the Royal's captain Dravid , Getting a flying start given by the New zealand Wicket-keeper Brenda McCullum who scored the first IPL T20 tournament century. He knocked 158 runs off just 73 balls, it is a record century in the T20 match.The Knight riders set the target of 223 to win for royals.But the latter team did not performed well, breaking all the expectations of 55,000 fans who all came for enjoying the winning moment of their home team.They managed to get only 82 runs in 15.1 overs having the top scorer Praveen kumar scoring 18 runs off 15 balls,the only one who scored double digit score beside the extras of 19 given the Knight riders.Brendon McCullum spoted as the Man of The Match for the opening match.The next Match is between the Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab XI Kings tomorrow at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh.
